BetterMan Bar-B-Cue
Dear Engage Arlington Pastors,
We’re fired up for the BetterMan Bar-B-Cue happening on June 9th at Veterans Park for us to do Session 10 Together! This city-wide event is all about celebrating biblical manhood and fostering a strong community of men in Arlington.
A Day of Food, Fellowship, Faith, and Inspiration:
The BetterMan Bar-B-Cue is more than just a cookout. It’s a chance for men to:
- Connect with fellow brothers in Christ: Build relationships, share experiences, and encourage one another on their journeys.
- Enjoy delicious food and fun activities: We’ll have sizzling BBQ, engaging games, and a spirit of camaraderie.
- Deepen their understanding of biblical manhood: Be inspired by renowned speaker, Dr. Jon Williams from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Gospel Family Ministry. Dr. Williams will share valuable insights into God’s design for men.
Why You Matter:
Your presence and leadership are crucial to the success of this event. You can help create a welcoming environment where men feel comfortable exploring their faith and connecting with others.

Special Thanks to Carey Morgan and the Grace Community Men for providing and serving our Bar-B-Cue this Year!
We look forward to seeing you there!
Sincerely,
The Engage Arlington Team

Merry Christmas 2023 and Happy New Year 2024
As we celebrate this Christmas, let us make sure that Jesus Christ is front and center of our celebrations. Reflect on the importance of the gift of God’s Son to save us from our sins and transfer us from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of God’s dear Son from where we can cry out “Abba Father”
We pray that you may experience greater victory in the new year from whatever tried to hold you back from following Jesus more closely in 2023. May you experience spiritual, material, emotional, and psychological growth in the new year.
Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year 2024!
Genesis, Marceline, Naomi, Marie-Toni, Brian, Davis, Philip.
International Thanksgiving Potluck (ITP)
On Sunday, November 19 at 1:00 PM, we will be hosting an International Thanksgiving Potluck at Mosaic Church in Arlington, where we meet (817 W. Park Row Dr, Arlington, TX 76013). We have labeled it ‘international’ because we envisage people from diverse cultures coming together to share food, friendship, fellowship, and be grateful to God and to each other for all he has done and all He has provided in the past year.
YOU AND YOUR HOUSEHOLD ARE INVITED!
Bringing a cultural dish is not required but strongly encouraged as we would love to try different foods from so many different cultures.
We plan to serve a special Cameroonian dish for all to try!
While bringing something is not required, confirming your participation is required, since we need to know how many people are attending in order to help us plan well. Use the form below to let us know how many people from your household will be attending (your entire household is invited).
We’re praying and planning hard for that day and can’t wait to sit at table with you and your family!
Upper Room – July 2023
Prayer 1 “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.” (1 Corinthians 3:6–7, NIV). Thank God for the birth of Flourish Church and pray for its growth and development.
Prayer 2 “Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”” (Matthew 9:37–38, NIV). Pray for workers willing to join the Tinshu family in the gospel ministry.
Prayer 3 “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.” (Colossians 4:2–3, NIV). Pray for open doors in the community for the gospel to be heard and believed.
Prayer 4 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19–20, NIV). Pray for true life transformation and the making of committed disciples of Christ through the ministry of Flourish Church.
Prayer 5 “But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”” (Joshua 24:15, NIV). Pray for Genesis and his family as they lead this new work.
Prayer 6 “Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” (Matthew 16:17–18, NIV). Pray that the gates of Hades will not prevail against Flourish Church.
Prayer 7 “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:7–8, NIV). Pray for dedicated financial and prayer partners.
