Genesis Tinshu is the Lead Church Planter of Flourish Church in Kennedale, TX. A passionate follower of Jesus Christ and servant leader, Genesis is committed to helping people flourish in their relationship with God by guiding them to find and follow Jesus.
Under Genesis’s guidance, Flourish Church emphasizes values such as Bible-based teaching, disciple-making, hospitality, diversity, servant leadership, service, small groups, and excellence. These values create a culture where everyone is welcome and encouraged to grow in their faith.
Genesis’s commitment to servant leadership and community engagement reflects the church’s vision of being a place where people from all walks of life can experience transformation and growth.
He holds a graduate degree in theology from Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas (2020) and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. He has travelled widely in Africa, Europe, Asia, and North America and has earned several International awards in including the Global Junior Challenge in Rome, the IVLP hosted by the US State Department, and Santa Clara University’s Global Social Benefit Incubator (GSBI) among others.
Before planting Flourish Church, Genesis served as the Lead Pastor of Buea Community Church in Cameroon from 2004 to 2015. He also founded and led Helps International (HINT), a nonprofit organization that used technology to serve the needy in Cameroon and beyond. After graduating from Dallas Seminary, he completed a pastoral residency at Lake Church in Arlington, TX, from January 2020 to December 2022.
Genesis is married to Marceline, and together they are raising five children—four teenagers and one toddler. His life and ministry are centered on the gospel, servant leadership, and building a multicultural and multiethnic church community rooted in the love of Christ.
